Mid Season Report

Undefeated Girls face rival

At mid-season, the lady Running Mustangs find themselves in a familiar situation; undefeated and preparing for their nemesis...the Gateway Gators.  These two teams have met under these same circumstance for the past two season.  Plum defeated Gateway in 2000 and went on to claim the section title.  The Gators returned the favor in 2001 on their home course.  The section championship will be on the line again this year when the Gators face the Running Mustangs on Plum's newly designed course.

Boys face ups and downs
The Plum boys made an early statement with a 3rd place finish at the Gateway Invitational.  However, the Running Mustangs stumbled against section foe Highlands and had a less than expected 14th place finish at the Slippery Rock Invitational.  With a total team effort, the Mustangs bounced back in a big way by defeating a tough Central Catholic team by one point.
The team has been working hard in preparation for the second half of the season.  An extra dose of hard work has been added to recent workouts as the Mustangs look forward to racing their rival, the Gateway Gators. It will be Senior Night and the Plum's only home meet of the year.

Plum Junior Varsity cleaning up at invites
Both the boys and girls Junior Varsity teams have been placing high at invitationals this year, or as Coach I would say, "Collecting a little hardware...Ohhh Yah."   The Girls finished first at Gateway and second at Slippery Rock, bring home a trophy and a plaque.  The Boys also had nice results with a 3rd at Gateway and a 4th at The Rock.   Way to be J.V.
