Bryce Rupp is New 800m Record Holder
    The spring of 2010 is turning out to be a historic one for the Plum boys track & field team.   In a section tri-meet against McKeesport and Woodland Hills, Bryce Rupp broke Dave McDowell’s 1980 school record in the 800m run.   After nearly breaking the record on several occasions, Rupp turned in a record setting time of 1:57.8.  Congratulations Bryce!


Dom Siciliano Breaks 34 Year
Old  Long Jump Record
    Dom Siciliano broke the Plum High School long jump record with a jump of 23' 0" in a home meet against Gateway.  The previous record of 22' 8" was set by Chris Manganaro in 1976.  Siciliano has also had outstanding performances in the high jump and 100m dash.
Going the Distance
     The boys distance runners have shown their dominance early in the season by winning all of the distance events against section rival Gateway.  The 4 X 800 team of Sam Griffiths, Matt Betts, Steve Galdo and Nate Andrew started off the meet with a victory.  Richie Addison and Denny Lydon placed 1st and 2nd in both the 1600m and the 3200m.   With Lydon on his heels, Addison's 1600m time of 4:34 set a stadium record. The 800m was swept by Plum as Nate Andrew, Sam Griffiths and Matt Betts went 1,2,3.   In addition, Bryce Rupp set a stadium record of 2:01 in the 800m a week prior against Springdale.

Coach, When is my event?
      This is the order of events that is usually followed for dual meets.   Invitationals often run preliminary heats of the high hurdles, 100m , 200m and sometimes other races at the beginning of the meet.
